The world’s deepest gorge is located in Northern Greece, in the region of Zagori. But let’s face it, literally anyone will be blown away by the fierce beauty and the exquisite charms of this historic monument in Greece. Starting out at\u00a0the village of Monodendri and finishing off at Vikos village or Papigo, the route to the canyon is definitely memorable. At times, you will feel like hanging from the cliff and this is when you need to stay vigilant. But there are some truly wonderful attractions, such as the Church of Agia Paraskevi or the quaint water fountains that will help you quench your thirst. And of course, the splendid Voidomatis river with the turquoise drinkable water is a sight for sore eyes. It runs through Vikos Gorge and adds to the overall unearthly ambiance.<\/p>\n

The gorge is part of the National Park of\u00a0Vikos-Aoos, which was established back in 1973.
