Once you reach the area, you are instantly blown away by the charming Cycladic flair all around you. It is as if dovey white houses have been built along the shore, in pursuit of the foamy waves or the shimmering clouds in the sky. This is a magical picture, which you will hold with you forever upon visiting the village.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travel-zone-greece.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/avlemonas-2-e1542539416263.jpg\" alt=\"avlemonas\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The fishing village of Avlemonas is located on the waterfront. This explains why most locals have been involved in fishing activities, after all. There are two small bays, where families with kids enjoy safe swimming and playing around with the water. At the same time, the fishing boats complete the wonderful scenery with their vivid colors as pieces of jewelry. There are also quaint fishing taverns, restaurants and caf\u00e9s, convenient stores and places where you can buy mementos of your visit in Avlemonas.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travel-zone-greece.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/avlemonas-3-e1542539432545.jpg\" alt=\"avlemonas\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another attraction in the wider area is Paleopolis. This is hands down among the largest beaches in the entire island of Kithira. Apart from that, there is a building with a sundial in the creek, right behind the village of Avlemonas. It is worth visiting it also, taking pictures and enjoying the Kithirian sunshine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.travel-zone-greece.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/avlemonas-e1542539460241.jpg\" alt=\"avlemonas\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Overall, Avlemonas is an experience on its own. In other words, you may relish relaxing, quiet vacations in a remote place of the island. Although distances are not that great, you are away from the crowds and the noise of other parts in Kithira. Still, within a few moments you can reach your preferred destination and connect to the rest of the places here on the island.
