Apollonia is the capital of Sifnos and pays homage to the God of Sun, Apollo. This is a traditional settlement, where the heart of the island beats fast. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants, along with hotels and rooms to let. Car rentals and ATMs, super markets and pottery stores, you name it! However, if you are looking for the most popular village in Sifnos, this would probably be Kamares. It is actually the port of the island and has been named after the caves on site. There is also a sandy beach next to the port, Kamares beach.

Artemonas is one of the loveliest Sifnos villages to visit. Its name is a direct reference to Goddess Artemis, while in the area travelers may also visit Panagia Kochi church. A prominent festival on the island is held here annually, celebrating Nikolaos Tselementes and the local gastronomy.
