The sixth modern revival of the Nemean Games
The event will take place in Ancient Nemea on June 10, 11 and 12, 2016.With the slogan “Run into History”, this original event will host more than 1,500 runners and volunteers from Greece and 25 other countries. Participants will have the chance to enjoy running at the same place where ancient Greeks ran more than 2,300 years ago.
The Nemean Games include the 90m stadium races as well as the 7.5km race entitled “In the Footsteps of Heracles”.
The Sixth Nemead is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Economy, Development and Tourism, the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO, the Greek National Tourism Organisation, the Region of Peloponnese, the International Olympic Truce Centre, the Hellenic ICOMOS, the Hellenic Pangration Athlima Federation and the World Pangration Athlima Federation.
