Plants from all over the world have been cultivated there over the past decades, creating a spectacle matching no other. Athens Botanical Garden is located in the area of Chaidari, in the western part of Athens. The garden has been donated by Ioulia and Alexandros Diomedes to the Greek State. So ever since the 1950s, the area has been used by students at the University of Athens to study and cultivate rare forms of plants. In total, more than 2,500 different plants are found in the area.

Admission is free for all and opening hours stretch from 08:00 to 14:00 on weekdays and 10:00 to 15:00 at the weekend.
