Located in the outskirts of the city, Noesis Thessaloniki Science Center & Technology Museum is a true sight for sore eyes. Established in 1978, the museum has been transformed into a wonderful sanctuary for Greek Science and Technology, maintaining and protecting Greek Technological Heritage. You will find it in the area of Thermi and you will be amazed by its design, created by French architech Denis Laming and following a futuristic stylistic approach.
There are many things to do and see at Noesis (which is the Greek word for Cognition or Intellect). First of all, there is a Digital Planetarium for you to admire. Have you ever looked at the sky, wondering how a star is born and why it fades away? Have you ever wondered about the Big Bang? You will find all the answers in the Planetarium, looking on the hemispherical surrounding dome screen. And then, there is the 3D Giant Screen Cinema, called Cosmotheater. Plus, there is a Motion Simulator that combines 3D – stereoscopic shows with motion.
And of course, besides the conference spaces and the other attractions, Noesis is also famous for its one-of-a-kind Technology Museum. Exhibitions feature Ancient Greek, Classic Cars, Image and Sound and the Technopark. The latter is perhaps the most sought after attraction, since it involves hands-on exhibits with great interaction.
