Professional and amateur athletes are invited to live the 3rd “Santorini Experience” on October 6-8 and get an adrenaline rush by taking part in the exciting running and swimming races on the island of Santorini.
Organized by the municipality of Thira and the Santorini Municipal Sports, Culture and Environmental Organization, in collaboration with Active Media Group, the “Santorini Experience” offers participants the opportunity to compete in open water swimming, following the route from the famous volcano to the old port of Fira.

It is a great pleasure that I will be able to swim in the beautiful waters of Santorini for the 3rd consecutive year,” said Greek world champion in open water swimming Kelly Araouzou. “It is a unique experience as, besides swimming, the feeling of competing in one of the most popular places of the world is incredible,” she added.
Running
Runners are offered to choose from three different routes that pass through the picturesque villages of Fira, Imerovigli and Oia, offering a stunning view of the Caldera: a short 5 km route, a 10 km route for long-distance runners and a challenging 15 km race.
For the first time this year, all runners and swimmers will be able to keep record of their time performance.
The “Santorini Experience” has been honored with the Golden Award for the “Best Sports Event Production” at this year’s Ermis Awards, held to honor the best advertising and communication companies in Greece.
