Paros is a picturesque island of Cyclades, world famous for its whitewashed houses and lovely settlements. Along with that, Paros beaches rank among the finest in the entire country of Greece and therefore deserve a special mention. Fully organized or more isolated, they are all sublime and provide a natural haven for those seeking to relax, unwind and enjoy nature’s bliss.
Kolymbithres is hands down the most popular and impressive beach on the island of Paros. Located on the bay of Naoussa, a fishing harbor and one of the finest places to stay, Kolymbithres boasts huge blocks of granite, carved by the sea and the salty winds over the years. The spectacle is purely breathtaking. As its name suggests, this is a complex of smaller coves (swimming pools in Greek). On site, you may find sunbeds and umbrellas, as well as some beach bars and fish taverns. But it is equally possible to enjoy a small cove on your own or with the company of selected few.
Golden Beach is another famous beach in Paros. Located south of Parikia, the capital and main port of the island, Golden Beach features a diving club and wonderful water sports facilities. The Professional Windsurfing World Cup takes place here each August, due to the ideal windsurfing conditions. And yes, the beach is covered by pure, fine sand of golden color and is perfect for diving in the crystalline waters. There is also New Golden Beach a little further away, with similar characteristics.
For those seeking to find an endless party on the beach, Pounda beach is their best bet. You will listen to music from early in the morning, with swimmers dancing to the latest hits of the summer. This is one of the most popular Paros beaches to consider visiting, with modern facilities and unique opportunities to mingle with the crowds in a non-stop party! In the same style, although not as hype as Pounda beach, you may visit Parasporos. It is very easily accessible and within short distance you can find a camping site, if interested.
Finally, do not neglect stopping by Santa Maria and Monastiri, Livadia and Logaras, Ambelas and Glyfa. In fact, you will fall in love with any beach on the island of Paros you get to visit. They are all unique and provide the absolute shelter of invigoration and exhilaration…A great combo, indeed!
