5th Kitesurf Festival

The Kitesurf Festival, a major athletic event focused on this impressive water board sport, takes place for the fifth year in Cape Drepano (Peloponnese) on June 25 and 26, 2016.

Cape Drepano constitutes one of the most ideal locations for water board sports (kitesurf, windsurf etc.) in Greece due to the area’s topography and to air’s frequency there. Over the last years, Cape Drepano has evolved into a major kitesurf venue for athletes from Greece and abroad.

Last year’s kitesurf festival was attended by more than 4,000 people while 110 athletes from Greece and abroad participated in the races. This year, the festival is expected to be far more impressive; the beach will be transformed into a kitesurf venue ready to host numerous kitesurf races as well as various parallel events for the spectators.

The 5th Kitesurf Festival is organised by the Kitesurf Sports Club “Cape Drepano” in collaboration with the WBSF (Water Board Sports Festival). The event is held under the auspices of the Region of Western Greece.
